How to Check Your Usage
Your credits, agents, and activity — one email away.
What You Will Learn
This guide shows you how to view your via.email usage report, which includes your credit balance, agent count, task history, and billing cycle details.
What does check@via.email tell me that my invoice does not?
The usage email is operational. It answers whether you are burning credits faster than you think, which agents actually eat the budget, and how many days are left in the cycle. Invoices tell you what you paid; the check reply tells you how you spent the allowance while the month is still running.

What the Report Includes
Your usage report contains:
- Account information — Your account ID, plan name, member since date, and last activity
- Credit balance — Credits remaining, credits used this cycle, and your monthly credit allowance
- Credit rollover — Your accumulation cap (the maximum credits you can carry over)
- Agent count — Active agents, agent limit for your plan, and remaining slots
- Top agents — Your most-used agents and their usage counts
- Task activity — Tasks this month, all-time tasks, and daily averages
- Billing cycle — Current cycle start and end dates, days remaining
- Estimated runout — Based on your recent usage, when your credits may run out
Understanding Credits
Credits are the unit of usage in via.email. Each task you send to an agent consumes credits based on the complexity of the request.
- Every plan includes a set number of monthly credits that refresh at the start of each billing cycle
- On paid plans, unused credits roll over to the next cycle, up to your plan's accumulation cap
- On the Free plan, credits do not roll over
You can see exactly how many credits each task cost in your usage report.
When to Check
- Before upgrading or downgrading — to understand your current usage patterns
- Mid-cycle — to make sure you are not running low on credits
- After a busy period — to see how your usage has changed
Managing Your Credits
If you are running low on credits:
- Wait for renewal — Credits refresh at the start of your next billing cycle
- Upgrade your plan — Email subscribe@via.email for more credits and features
