How do I change a custom agent without rebuilding it from scratch?

Email edit@via.email, CC the agent, and describe the delta in plain language. The system merges your note into the existing instruction and confirms the new version. The address stays the same, so your templates and contacts do not break.

Listing Your Agents

To see all your agents, email:

You will receive a reply listing all your active agents with their names, addresses, summaries, creation dates, last used dates, and usage counts.

Viewing Agent Details

To see the full details of a specific agent (including the complete instruction):

You will receive a detailed view of that agent, including any context files attached during creation.

Editing an Agent

To update an agent's instruction or name:

  • To: edit@via.email
  • CC: The agent's email address
  • Subject: New name for the agent (optional — leave blank to keep the current name)
  • Body: Describe how you want to change the instruction

You do not need to rewrite the entire instruction. Simply describe the change. For example:

  • "Make the summaries shorter — 3 bullet points maximum."
  • "Always include a one-line subject line suggestion at the end."
  • "Add a rule: if the input is in Spanish, reply in Spanish."

The AI will merge your changes into the existing instruction and send you a confirmation with the updated version.

Note: You cannot modify context files after creation. To change attached files, remove the agent and create a new one.

Removing an Agent

To remove an agent:

You can remove up to 5 agents at once by adding multiple addresses to CC.

You will receive a confirmation listing the agents removed, including their names, usage counts, and last used dates.

Removing an agent is permanent. The agent's instruction and any attached context files will be deleted.

Tips

  • Check your agent count by emailing check@via.email to see how many agent slots you have used and how many remain.
  • Edit before removing. If an agent is close to what you need but not quite right, try editing it first before removing and recreating.
  • Agent addresses stay the same after editing. Only the instruction and name change. The email address does not change.
