via.email is operated by Point One Lab. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and how we protect it.

Privacy is not an afterthought at via.email — it is a design principle. We built the product to collect as little data as possible and to remove what we do collect as quickly as possible. We do not sell your data. WE NEVER WILL.

Information We Collect

Account Information

When you register by emailing join@via.email, we collect:

• Your email address
• Your name (provided in the subject line)

This information is used to create and manage your account.

Email Content (Temporarily Processed)

When you email an agent, we temporarily process:

• The subject line, body, and attachments of your email

This content is used solely to generate an AI response to your request. Email content is automatically deleted from via.email servers within 24 hours of processing. This applies to all users — registered and trial — and to all types of emails, including tasks, system commands, and support requests.

Usage Information

We collect aggregated usage data to manage your account and improve the service:

• Task metadata (timestamps, credit usage — no email content)
• Agent metadata (names, addresses, usage counts)
• Account activity (last active date, registration date)

Billing Information

If you subscribe to a paid plan, payment processing is handled by a trusted, PCI DSS-compliant third-party payment processor. We do not store your credit card details.

How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Provide the service — Process your tasks and generate AI responses
• Manage your account — Handle registration, verification, and billing
• Communicate with you — Send verification emails, usage reports, system notifications, and occasional product updates
• Improve the service — Analyze aggregated, anonymized usage patterns (never individual email content)

Marketing Communications

We may send occasional marketing or product update emails after registration. You can opt out at any time by replying to any such email or emailing support@team.via.email.

Data Retention and Deletion

This is what sets via.email apart:

• Email content (subject, body, attachments, AI-generated responses) is automatically deleted from our servers within 24 hours of processing
• This includes task inputs, task outputs, conversation titles, and raw email storage
• This applies to all users and all email types
• Account metadata (email, name, usage statistics) is retained while your account is active
• You can request full account deletion at any time by emailing support@team.via.email

Third-Party Service Providers

We work with trusted, best-in-class third-party service providers to operate via.email. We deliberately select providers with strong security certifications and configure the strictest available data handling options.

Our providers include:

• Email infrastructure — SOC 2 Type II audited and HIPAA-compliant services for sending and receiving email
• AI processing — State-of-the-art AI providers such as OpenAI and Anthropic. We select models that do not use your data to train their systems
• Payment processing — PCI DSS-compliant payment services for secure billing
• Cloud infrastructure and storage — Enterprise-grade hosting with encryption at rest

Each provider has their own privacy policies and terms. We take reasonable steps to ensure your data is handled with care throughout the chain, but we cannot guarantee the practices of third parties. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of services you interact with.

Data Security

We implement strong security measures to protect your data:

• Encryption in transit — All data is encrypted using TLS between you, via.email, and our service providers
• Automatic data cleanup — Email content is permanently removed from our servers within 24 hours
• No AI training on your data — We select AI models and providers that do not use your data to train their systems
• Minimal data collection — We collect only what is necessary to provide the service
• Abuse prevention — Automated rate limiting and security measures protect against misuse
• Dangerous file blocking — Potentially harmful file types (executables, scripts) are automatically rejected
