Subject: Update to Remote Work Policy and New PTO Accrual System
Dear Team,
I hope this email finds you well. As we continue to evolve as an organization and adapt to the changing workplace landscape, we have made several important updates to our employee policies that will take effect starting January 15th. These changes reflect our commitment to supporting work-life balance while maintaining operational excellence and team collaboration standards.
First, regarding our remote work arrangements, after careful consideration and feedback from various departments, we are implementing a new hybrid work model that allows for greater flexibility while ensuring adequate in-person collaboration time. Employees will now be permitted to work remotely up to three days per week, provided they maintain their current performance standards and attend mandatory in-person meetings. Department heads will work with their teams to establish schedules that work for everyone while meeting business needs. Remote work requests must be submitted through the new portal in our HR system by the 1st of each month for the following month's schedule.
Secondly, we are updating our PTO accrual system to better align with industry standards and employee feedback from our recent engagement survey. Beginning with the first pay period in January, all full-time employees will accrue 1.5 PTO days per month instead of the current 1.25 days. Part-time employees working more than 20 hours per week will accrue PTO on a pro-rated basis. The maximum PTO balance has been increased from 25 days to 30 days, and employees will have until March 31st to use any PTO that would exceed the new cap. Please note that sick leave accrual remains unchanged at 8 hours per month.
Additionally, we want to remind everyone about the upcoming annual performance review cycle which will begin in February. HR will be sending out detailed instructions and timelines in the coming weeks. If you have any questions about these policy changes, please don't hesitate to reach out to myself or your department head.
Best regards,
Sarah Chen
