I need to submit my professional growth plan this week and I always struggle with these. Can you draft one based on my situation?
I am a 6th year middle school science teacher (7th and 8th grade) at a Title I school. My evaluation last year rated me proficient across the board but my post-observation conference notes said I should work on differentiation and using formative assessment data to adjust instruction in real time.
I am genuinely interested in getting better at both of those things. I also want to integrate more student-led inquiry into my labs instead of cookbook labs where everyone follows the same steps.
Our district uses a basic template with these sections: Goal Statement, Connection to School Improvement Plan, Professional Development Activities, Evidence of Completion, Timeline, and Self-Reflection (mid-year and end-of-year).
Our school improvement plan priorities this year are: 1) close achievement gaps in math and science, 2) increase student engagement, 3) strengthen Tier 1 instruction.
Thanks for any help. I just want this to be useful for once instead of a box-checking exercise.
