- 11:31 PM: Database connection errors start appearing in logs
- 11:45 PM: Mike paged, starts investigation
- 12:15 AM: Identified connection pool exhaustion
- 12:32 AM: Temporary fix applied - increased pool size
- 1:15 AM: Full resolution after connection cleanup
Slack thread has more details. Also attaching screenshot of our monitoring dashboard during the incident.
Root cause seems to be the new batch job we deployed Friday - it's not properly closing connections. But we should have caught this in staging.
