After the board vote last night we need to communicate three new digital safety initiatives to parents:
1. Mandatory digital wellness curriculum for grades 6-12 starting in March
2. New social media education requirements with parent notification component
3. Deepfake awareness protocol after the incident at Westbrook High last month
The state screen time regulation takes effect Feb 1 and we need to explain how our policies align. Parents are already emailing after the board meeting coverage in the Herald.
We need something comprehensive but not overwhelming. Most parents will skim it.
